The Green Dragons at Chemong Public School is a big group of 500 students doing big things for the environment. These students and their mentors, Barb Logan and Cathy Beach, worked hard to involve the whole school, parents, and their community, in Bridgenorth, Ontario, in all of their environmental activities.   • Obtained Loads Of Paper from a local printing company going out of business which kept the paper out of the garbage and saved the art department money
  • Converted an old storage room into an Environmental Resource Centre
  • Paper Grocery Bags
  • Decorated Paper Grocery Bags in local stores
  • Published Green Corner, an environmental activity update in the school’s monthly newspaper
  • Participated in the Earth Hour Challenge, resulting in a reduction of energy use in the school and at home as well
  • Advertised Earth Day in local stores by designing Posters and cloth decorating grocery bags
  • Sold Bulbs as a fundraiser to support environmental activities and the construction of our Green Classroom
  • Butterfly
  • Hatched and released Painted Lady and Monarch Butterflies
  • Created and cared for various Native Flower Gardens around the school
