Creative Kids Education Centre, located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, was busy this year involving the whole school in all of the club’s environmental initiatives. Led by Shelley Leaman, this group of 76 members worked very hard to reduce their environmental impact. Here is what they did this year:

Reused Old Tires in playground area and swings
Made Cushions from vinyl table cloths and plastic bags for outdoor classes
Adopted Half An Acre of rainforest in South America with money raised from collecting recyclables
Used Plastic Bags cut in strips as ‘yarn’ and made waterproof rugs
Protected a section of our outdoor trail area for nature studies
Implemented a school-wide composting and recycling program
