Let’s Stop Litter in Our Community

by EcoReporters’ students — Pictou Landing First Nation School, Pictou Landing, NS

Litter can become hazardous.
Litter can become hazardous.

January 2011 — It’s really important to not litter because litter is really bad for the environment, people and animals. Animals can eat the litter on the ground and get sick and die.  If there was a big piece of old metal and dogs were running around and playing and one dog fell on the metal they could really get hurt.

It’s bad for people too. People get sick because they could be swimming in a polluted lake. People could also drink polluted water. Everyone may be polluting and not even notice so that’s why its really important to stop littering. Trash can even go in streams and make the water bad to drink and people drink the water and get sick! I see litter everywhere, even broken bikes on the side of the roads.

See how littering can harm people and wildlife! Let’s all do our part and clean up our Community!

Hello this is a major issue I agree with this statement it is stating to effect the way we live and how we live it. our live are becoming more and more modernised by the minute I also think that this modernisation of our lives should most definitely stop

That must get people think about littering. It got me thinking. Now I know how bad it effects the environment and community. This is a great way to get the message to the younger kids and also the big kids that did not know this already so this is a great website
