Cirque of the Unclimbables
The "Cirque of the Unclimbables" is the name given to a small cluster of mountains in the Northwest Territories. The "Lotus Flower Tower" is the better-known climbing route in the area. However, amongst mountain climbers, Mount Harrison's 1,524 metre summit is "legendary!" With temperatures that can drop to 70 Celsius below zero, the Cirque of the Unclimbables is for the truly adventurous!

Mackenzie Mountains
Did you know the Mackenzie Mountains are a breeding ground for the rare trumpeter swan? The unique ecosystem also hosts animals like the Dall sheep, bear, caribou, wolf and lynx! The mountains have plummeting canyons and valleys, and even broad plateaus, while some are made up of limestone.

Diavik Diamond Mine
The Diavik diamond mines are about 220 kilometres south of the Arctic Circle. They mine in the Precambrian rocks that hold deposits of gold, copper, zinc, nickel and more recently discovered, diamonds! This ancient rock is one of the world's oldest and said to have been formed 2.7 to 2.5 billion years ago! Wow!
