Tips & Ideas

Here are some suggestions to make your project stand out.

Ideas:

  • Initiate a Litterless Lunch Campaign and find out just how much waste you can divert.
  • Host a water-way clean up and re-green shorelines by planting native species.
  • Run a Transportation-a-Thon and have classmates, teachers, parents and community members pledge to run, walk, skate or bike.
  • SWAP – Make a place in your school where you can bring unwanted items and exchange them for items you do want. Donate any remaining items.
  • Live it ol’school – Challenge yourself and classmates to cut out non-essential electricity for a day, a week or even a month. How long can you go?
  • Go Natural – Create shady places in your school yard by planting trees and gardens.

Tips:

  • Simple actions. Big impact. Your project doesn’t need to be huge but it needs to have an effect.
  • Check out previous winners to see what they have done.
  • We’re looking for student leadership and involvement.
  • Remember to measure your success!
  • Have fun!
